I am Thalisha Kamice' and I am an artist.
I have always been an artist.
I spent many exhaustive years dabbling with paints and pencils, never fully satitsfied with my results. When I took up photography in High School I knew at once it was the creative outlet I had desired.
Finally I had the means of satisfactorly expressing myself.
To gain a solid grasp of the technique involved in photography and to expand my creative toolbox I attended Brooks Institute of Photography and in Feburary of 2003 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Commercial / Advertising.
I was fortunate to have worked with and learned from many amazing people while attending Brooks Institute of Photography. Though my education was well rounded, my true love was and remains to this day the Traditional Black and White photographic process.
As an artist, I need to be hands-on throughout the entire process from film to finishing. I load, shoot and process my own film. I print and tone my own images. I retouch, mount and overmount my own photographs.
In these days of digital, I suppose I am considered somewhat of a dinosaur.
I don't mind. Rawr!
